Happy new week lovers! We’re kicking off this fabulous week with one of the most incredible culture packed wedding events you’ll ever see, courtesy of George Okoro Weddings. We’ll be rolling out some of the most breathtaking and colourful photos from Akan & MaryAnn’s traditional wedding & reception, and you definitely won’t want to miss out on a single photo!
The blushing bride, MaryAnn stands out in her three elaborate and colourful traditional attires. For the first look, she wore the Onyonyo, a long flowing maxi gown, accessorising her hand and leg with Ekpa ku kwa, and her necks with coral beads. Notice the hair? The over the top hair pins and the decorated iron rod staff carried by the bride – absolutely unique and regal.
After, the bride price has been paid, MaryAnn changed into the Ofong Ukod Anwang – a fancy attire which includes a knee length skirt, blouse (usually covering only the bust) and a fancy beaded body adornment similar to the dancers. The couple danced out to greet their guests, cut their cake, take photos and later went back in to change into their 3rd outfit. A beautifully beaded pink igbo blouse with george wrapper.
There is still plenty more ahead, including an unforgettable church wedding and one fantastic reception, so make sure you stick around.
