With the use of Pantone trend forecasting and various sources, we’ve been able to put together a list of the hottest colors to be worn for spring and summer seasons. Get ready y’all, to experience beauty, style and be inspired!
Blush Pink & Rose
The palest of pinks makes a flattering and feminine bridesmaid dress color, which translates well at any wedding venue. Such an elegant shade of pink, blush is a serious contender for bridesmaids the world over. Will look amazing with ivory and tonal shades of pink to compliment the look. A truly beautiful colour for bridesmaids, but one, which may not suit everyone! Whilst it’s a great colour for a wedding it may not suit nor make your ladies happy. Blush pink happens to suit certain skin and hair colours more than others so if you want to make all your maids happy make sure they are content with this shade of pink.
Pistachio & Mint
This pale green shade is so hot right now on all ready-to-wear runways, and we think it’s a gorgeous choice for a wedding. Great teamed with gold and white this color doesn’t have to stop at the dresses.
Gray is a hugely popular color for bridesmaids right now, in recent years it had been banished for good, but thankfully the color has reemerged and it looks better than ever. To make sure things don’t look too dull, team the dresses with a pop of canary yellow in the bouquets or choose a bright heel to make the loo more vibrant. Many brides are incorporating gray in their color schemes – it has a lighter, less dramatic feel to black, and can match and blend with most color schemes. A great color for any season.
Turquoise & Aqua
Traditionally a winner with bridesmaids, due to it’s different shades and tones. This color just continues to push itself to the forefront. It’s no wonder with its flattering yellowy tones; it’s a color to be worn by all. Depending on the style you want, why not try stark white bouquets, as it will really make the turquoise stand out.
Coral & Strawberry Ice
A fabulous color at beach weddings and its been seen all over red carpet venues this year making it a popular choice that translates perfectly down the aisle. A great shade for both summer and autumn wedding venues.
Orchid Tint & Lilac
Still around after a huge year in 2014, this purple hued pink orchid shade looks beautiful next to white, making it a popular choice for bridesmaids. It’s also a flattering color, which works well with tonal pink shades.
A light yellowy tone, perfect for spring and summer weddings, it’s not traditionally a popular color, but we think it will look fab with brighter shades of yellow and white.
All shades of green! But our favourite is Pantone’s color of the year, this flattering shade of green and will really stand out on your big day and most importantly on the photographs. Plus we think most maids would be rather happy having to sport this color. If not, see different shades below, be inspired!
Royalty, you say? Purple is one of the most popular wedding colours of all time! A great color in the height of summer.
From pastel to navy to midnight, blue is the hot new hue for your maids. This one-shouldered Allure Bridal number doesn’t only get top points for being bang on trend in terms of colour, but it also picks up on another dreamy detail for next year – embellishments. So give your girls a little sparkle with a one-shoulder detail like this, or perhaps a sparkly brooch.
White, Silver & Ivory
Yes, your bridesmaids can wear white! Once considered taboo, we predict that white bridesmaid dresses will remain popular throughout 2013 and into the following year. And don’t worry that your bridesmaids will be confused with the bride – as long as the bride styles her dress a little different, for example with a veil and long train, then there’s no worries about a mistaken bride.
There’s nothing chic than an LBD (Little Black Bridesmaid Dress). Not only does black look great on most skin tones, it’s also a wardrobe staple that your bridesmaids will wear again and again. To add a touch of femininity to an edgy black dress, look for dresses that incorporate another hot bridesmaid trend – lace.
Pale neutrals are all the rage – we love the pairing of nude bridesmaid dresses with all-white bouquets. Just make sure all your maids are happy in this color to avoid unhappy maids.
Yellow & Mustard Yellow
One of the must vibrant and airy colors ever! Now for some of the more obvious autumn color choices, mustard and pumpkin are making a big comeback on a slightly more delicate note. Mix the classic colors with a watered down version of itself to achieve some beautiful ombre looks. This will also make the look less obviously fall and puts a gorgeous spin on the festive season.
Pink & Magenta
Fuchsia pink has already been a key color in 2014, but it’s only just now that you’ll really see this color come to life. It’s a great statement color for autumn and works particularly well with camel and mustards, even a light sage will not let you down. It’s an easy color to use in a strong theme, think hot mulled wine introductory drinks or those gorgeous bridesmaid gowns. Need I say anymore?
Red is pretty, practical and works in almost every season, which is why it’s one of our favourite colours for 2015. We’ve selected some of our favourite purple designs here and not only were we wowed by their colours, they’ve got great necklines too!
Our pinks selection below is full of flattering dresses for your bridesmaids. Spring and summer weddings are perfect occasions for the lighter tones, while darker pinks and fuchsias work well in the later months. Take this great example from Alexia Designs, with its floral waist detail and ruched effect bodice – so flattering for all body shapes.
Orange & Burnt Orange
Very versatile for all seasons, orange is a great colour and one we’re going to see a lot of in 2015. Or a classic autumnal look, go for the darker shades like these dresses below or mix and match all the colours of the rainbow if you’re looking for a colour pop in summer, just like these colourful bridesmaids!
