How Did You Meet?

Ike and I met through mutual friends. Our friends had it in their minds to introduce us for some time, and fate had it that I bumped into one of them at a wedding. She invited me over to their house the following Sunday to hang out and watch TV. And that is when I met Ike. We all enjoyed each other’s company while watching TV, joking, and laughing. Before the night was over, Ike secured my contact information and we’ve been enjoying each other’s company ever since.

The proposal

It was also a Sunday. Ike surprised me with a proposal at a lovely French restaurant in the Georgetown area of Washington, D.C. He had everything planned to a “T” but I unknowingly made his task a bit challenging than anticipated by doing things like suggesting a different place for dinner and not ordering dessert (as he had planned). But Ike kept his cool and after the main course was completed, Ike ordered dessert for himself. I was very much confused when the waitress returned with 2 glasses of champagne and placed Ike’s dessert on my side of the table. It took some time before I looked down at the dessert plate to discover a beautiful diamond ring nestled within the plate’s strawberry garnish. I was in shock because I had absolutely no idea he was planning to propose that day. He said he wanted it to be a surprise, and it was! Ike proceeded to my side of the table, got on one knee, and the rest is history…

Overall, our engagement ceremony turned out beautifully; I loved our décor, the cake was beautiful, and I was felt so much love from everyone. I was all smiles!

Any Advise To Would-Be-Couples

Don’t be solely focus on finding a romantic relationship in the beginning. Keep a positive mindset about meeting new people and let a friend and relationship blossom naturally.

How Do You Feel?

Although we’re very early into our marriage, we can say marriage is wonderful! We are very thankful for each other and bless God for all He has done and all that He will do in the future.
